Expertise dedicated to advanced turbo testing

At CRITT M2A, our teams develop advanced turbo testing solutions to meet the challenges faced by players in the automotive industry. In collaboration with DSi – Delta Services Industriels, we accurately analyze oil consumption in turbochargers. This work helps improve the understanding of internal phenomena and optimize the performance of boosting systems.

A clear objective: mastering oil consumption

Our engineers aim to quantify oil consumption on both the compressor and turbine sides. This data plays a key role in controlling engine emissions and improving component reliability. Thanks to these advanced turbo tests, we gain deeper insight into internal oil migration mechanisms.

A high-precision testing methodology

Our teams implement an innovative methodology to ensure reliable results. They inject radioactive tracers into the oil to closely track its behavior within the turbocharger. The oil is then captured using absolute filters placed on both the turbine and compressor sides. Finally, dedicated equipment measures gamma radiation with a high level of accuracy.

Tests carried out under various configurations

We perform advanced turbo testing under different conditions to obtain representative results. We first conduct a reference measurement in a standard horizontal position, then test the turbocharger at a 45-degree angle. This approach allows us to clearly assess the impact of orientation on oil consumption and internal migration phenomena.

CRITT M2A, a key player in engine testing innovation

Through these advanced turbo tests, CRITT M2A demonstrates its ability to design tailor-made testing protocols and leverage cutting-edge instrumentation. Our teams rely on recognized expertise in engine component testing to support R&D projects and enhance the performance of powertrain systems.
