At CRITT M2A, we place Research & Development at the heart of our activities. Currently, several ambitious projects are underway, including the Recybat project, a key initiative aimed at creating an expertise platform for the second life of batteries.
In collaboration with CREPIM (fire testing center) and UMET (university materials laboratory), this project started in May 2022 and will continue until September 2026. After completing the state-of-the-art review, we are now conducting specific tests on batteries under controlled conditions. This crucial phase allows us to thoroughly study the aging mechanisms of batteries, as well as their impacts on performance and safety.
The ultimate goal? To determine whether end-of-life batteries can be safely and appropriately reused for new applications, such as stationary storage, particularly due to their lower energy density. This innovative approach significantly helps reduce environmental impact by reusing batteries instead of destroying them, while also promoting renewable energy.
We are proud to be part of building a more sustainable future and pushing the boundaries of innovation for the batteries of tomorrow!
